At Just Support, we understand that managing home tasks can feel overwhelming. Chores, routines, clutter, laundry, dishes and household responsibilities can quickly build up, especially when someone is balancing school, work, appointments, social activities, sensory needs or executive functioning challenges.
Our Home Skills & Everyday Organisation support is designed to help participants build confidence with the daily tasks that make home life feel more manageable. We work alongside each person to develop practical skills, create helpful routines and support greater independence in a way that feels achievable.
Organisation and Tidying
A calm and organised space can make daily life easier. Our team can support participants to tidy their room, organise belongings, sort clothing, set up storage systems, manage clutter and create routines that help keep their space functional.
The goal is not perfection. It is about helping each person build systems that work for them, so their space feels easier to use, easier to maintain and less overwhelming.
Household Tasks and Daily Chores
We can support participants with everyday household tasks such as dishes, laundry, making the bed, wiping surfaces, light tidying, sorting items, taking out rubbish and preparing for the week ahead.
Support may include prompting, body-doubling, breaking tasks into smaller steps, modelling skills, working together, or helping the participant complete tasks safely and confidently.
Building Practical Life Skills
Home-based support is also an opportunity to build real-world independence. Participants can practise planning tasks, following steps, managing time, making decisions, using cleaning products safely, organising personal items and taking responsibility for their own environment.
These skills can support confidence at home, in shared living arrangements, and later in more independent living situations.
Outdoor and Home-Based Tasks
Where appropriate, our team may support participants to take part in simple outdoor or home-based tasks as part of their independence goals. This may include light garden tidying, putting items away, watering plants, or learning how to safely participate in basic household routines.
Support is focused on skill-building and participation, rather than replacing professional cleaning, gardening or maintenance services.
Support That Fits the Person
Every person’s home, routine and support needs are different. Some participants may need hands-on assistance, while others may need reminders, encouragement, structure or help getting started.
We work with each participant to understand what feels manageable, what matters to them, and what routines will support their independence, wellbeing and comfort at home.
Helping home feel calmer, safer and easier to manage, one task at a time.
