Building independence as a young person can come with many moving parts. Personal care, hygiene, routines, organisation, study, chores and daily tasks can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when energy, motivation, sensory needs, anxiety or executive functioning challenges get in the way.
At Just Support, our Everyday Wellbeing & Personal Support service is designed to provide respectful, practical and personalised support with the daily things that help life feel more manageable. We work alongside participants to build confidence, develop routines, reduce stress and support greater independence in a way that feels safe, dignified and achievable.
Support With Personal Care
Personal care is about more than completing a task. It is about dignity, comfort, confidence and feeling okay in your own body. Our team can provide gentle reminders, prompting, guidance or hands-on assistance depending on the person’s needs and preferences.
This may include support with showering, bathing, toileting, grooming, skincare, hair care, dressing, hygiene routines and other personal care needs. Support is always provided respectfully, with privacy, consent and dignity at the centre of everything we do.
Building Helpful Daily Routines
Many young people need support to create routines that actually work for them. We can assist with building structure around mornings, evenings, school, study, appointments, chores, rest and self-care.
This may include help with planning the day, remembering tasks, breaking jobs into smaller steps, managing time, setting up reminders, or creating visual and practical systems that make everyday life easier to navigate.
Organisation and Home-Based Skills
A cluttered or overwhelming space can make daily life harder. Our team can support participants with practical home-based tasks such as tidying their room, organising belongings, managing laundry, preparing for the week, sorting school or work items, and setting up systems to keep things more manageable.
The goal is not perfection. The goal is helping each person build skills, confidence and a sense of control over their own space.
Tailored to the Person
Every participant is different, so support should never feel one-size-fits-all. We take time to understand each person’s goals, preferences, routines, sensory needs, communication style and comfort levels.
Some participants may need hands-on assistance. Others may need prompting, encouragement, body-doubling, checklists, emotional support or help getting started. We adapt the support to suit the person, their goals and their stage of independence.
Why Choose Just Support?
At Just Support, we believe everyday wellbeing is not just about hygiene, chores or routines. It is about helping young people feel more confident, capable and in control of their lives.
Our team brings compassion, creativity, practical experience and genuine care to each shift. We continue to learn, train and grow so we can provide thoughtful, respectful and person-centred support.
Whether someone needs help getting ready for the day, organising their space, building routines or managing personal care, we are here to walk beside them.
Supporting independence, dignity and confidence, one day at a time.
