What’s your role at Just Support?
Hi, I’m Maddie! I’m a Support Worker here at Just Support, and I’m passionate about helping people feel more confident, independent, and supported in their everyday lives. I’m excited to be part of a team that values meaningful connection and making a difference, no matter how small.
What inspired you to become a support worker?
While I’m new to the industry, I’ve always been drawn to roles where I can support others and build trust. With a background in psychology and human resources, I’ve developed a strong understanding of people, empathy, and ethical care — and I’m now excited to bring that into direct support work.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
It’s the little moments — helping someone reach a goal, try something new, or simply have a really good day. Being someone clients can rely on and creating a sense of calm and confidence is incredibly rewarding.
What are your interests and hobbies outside of work?
I’m a creative person who loves sewing, drawing, and exploring op shops for treasures. I’m also a big fan of houseplants, slow weekends, and spending time with my cat.
Do you have a hidden talent or fun fact?
I’ve been called a plant whisperer — and I’m definitely the go-to person when it comes to reviving wilting leaves or arranging a plant shelf like a pro. I’m also pretty great at deep-diving into a TV series!
