What’s your role at Just Support?
Hello, my name is Sharna! I’m a support worker who has recently started their journey with Just Support. I have over a year of working experience and value support that sees health in all its forms, including mental, physical, spiritual, emotional and social. I’m looking forward to meeting people and seeing how I can contribute to my community.
What inspired you to become a support worker?
I’ve always had a strong interest in people and understanding what influences their thoughts, behaviours and experiences, which led me to complete a degree in Behavioural Science (Psychology). After graduating, I began working as a support worker, where I discovered how rewarding it is to build meaningful connections with people and support them in their everyday lives. Through this experience, I developed a genuine passion for working with people and helping them feel supported, valued and empowered.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love that no two days are the same and that I’m constantly learning about what makes each person who they are. I especially enjoy seeing people light up when they’re doing something they love or talking about something they’re passionate about. I believe everyone should feel accepted, included and comfortable participating in activities and social spaces that are meaningful to them. Being able to support people to have those experiences is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
What are your interests and hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work, I love spending time with my friends and family and getting out and about. I enjoy visiting markets, arts and crafts, playing the One Piece Card Game and board games, watching movies and anime, and playing console games. I also enjoy being outdoors, especially hiking and going for walks. I’m a big animal lover as well, so I’m always happy to spend time around animals whenever I get the chance.
Do you have a hidden talent or fun fact?
I like to cosplay with friends and have cosplayed as a Furby 😀

I’m the Chief Quest Master around here, which means I get the awesome job of guiding our team and participants through incredible adventures in support and personal growth. I plot the course, steer the ship, and sometimes fight off dragons (metaphorically speaking).
Hi there! I’m Vanessa, and I’ve been enriching lives here as a support worker for over a year now. I specialize in supporting children and young people, focusing on academic studies, social skills, and active community participation. The best part? Our team’s wonderfully queer-friendly and nerdy vibe—it really makes Just Support feel like home.
