Manor Infiltration, Maid Costumes, and One Very Dead Adventurer
Sessions 11–12
With intel pointing to Urstul Floxin and the elusive Stone of Golorr, the party set their sights on a fancy estate in the North Ward: Gralhund Villa. Time to break into a noble house. Because that always goes smoothly.
The Break-In (Feat. Horse Shoes and Harper Lies)
The mission started with the party tracking Grape’s creation, Apple, with help from their robotic detector. Apple’s location? Inside Gralhund Villa.
When the group arrived at the gates, Isac attempted to sneak in but was immediately spotted by a city guard. Thinking fast, he claimed to be on official Harper business, investigating a terrorist threat. Lucky timing—an explosion went off inside the house moments later. The guard apologised and let them through.
Meanwhile, LDO got distracted by the horses outside. One had magical horseshoes. This was important, apparently.
Pyjama Heists and Zombie Maids
Inside, things escalated quickly.
The party discovered the guard’s quarters and promptly stole all their pyjamas, along with the armour mannequins. These were sent back to the cart outside. Why? Unclear. But very on-brand.
In the laundry room, they found the body of a maid. Naturally, LDO raised her as a zombie.
Heading upstairs, the team encountered the rest of the household staff—terrified after seeing their dead coworker reanimated. Isac calmed them down with some quick thinking and even convinced them the party was there to help.
The servants explained that the owners of the house had been working with shady figures—and had recently been attacked. Oh, and they mentioned a mechanical servant wandering the building. Sounds familiar.
Nancy & Macy’s Cleaning Crew (Now Hiring)
Back in the laundry, Isac and Eva disguised themselves as maids and approached a room full of Zhentarim agents. They claimed to be new contractors hired to clean up the mess.
It worked.
One particularly suspicious Zhent was convinced to wear a maid outfit himself. He was… surprisingly into it. This distraction gave the party just enough time to assess the situation and sneak deeper into the villa.
Upstairs, Downstairs… Hydras Everywhere
Upstairs, a full-on battle was raging between house guards and Zhentarim mercenaries. LDO, after exploring the estate and eating who-knows-what, showed up in full hydra form, immediately shifting the power balance.
Then, from behind a locked door, they heard shouting. Nathan—Isac’s old friend—was in trouble.
The party burst in to find Urstul Floxin standing over Nathan, sword raised.
Suggestion, Whips, Betrayal
Isac cast Suggestion on Urstul, convincing him to “do another part of his job” instead of killing Nathan. It worked—briefly—until Urstul realised who they were and attacked.
The fight was brutal. Marvin was knocked unconscious. Isac was badly wounded. Uno entered the fray, slinging spells and cracking jokes.
Eventually, Urstul was captured, held in place by a flaming whip conjured by Uno.
But things took a turn when Isac decided he wanted to spare Urstul—to use him, not kill him.
Uno disagreed.
Uno attacked Isac. LDO came charging in but accidentally crushed Isac’s ribs. Viktor administered poison to Isac “just for fun.” (Classic Viktor.)
And then… Isac died.
Like, full ghost-mode died. He lingered, spirit-bound to the Spoopy Inn, and was briefly shown Yuan-Ti heaven and his dead dad.
It was emotional. It was weird. It was so, so Spoopy.
Aftermath and Arrests
Urstul was eventually killed. The owners of the house, Yalah and Orlund Gralhund, emerged from hiding. Yalah was icy. Orlund was crying in a closet.
Yalah tried to shift blame. The City Watch arrived soon after, and while most of the Zhentarim were arrested, the robot servant (Apple) had been sent away.
The party didn’t have proof to stop Yalah’s lies, so they settled for bribes: 10 gold each, a pony, and a mysterious “surprise” to be delivered to Trollskull Manor.
One dead teammate, one escaped robot, and one new pony.
Spoopy as ever.
Coming up in Chapter 6: ghost Isac, a new party member, robot therapy, magical pie theft, and the stone that might know everything.
