Hi, I’m Indy! I’m a support worker at Just Support, where I help clients achieve their personal goals and provide care in a supportive, friendly environment. Each day is different, and I love seeing clients grow and gain confidence with every step.
Why do people call you the "Chicken Lady"?
It’s because I absolutely adore my chickens! I’ve got a small flock, and they’re a big part of my life. They’ve even become a fun talking point with some of the clients I work with, especially when they hear about all the chicken adventures in my backyard!
What do you enjoy most outside of work?
I love seeing clients’ creativity and imagination come to life during the games. The collaborative storytelling allows participants to come out of their shells, form lasting friendships, and develop communication skills in a way that’s enjoyable and safe. Watching them grow and bond through shared adventures is incredibly fulfilling.
What do you find most fulfilling about support work?
The best part is seeing people achieve their goals, no matter how big or small. Watching someone come out of their shell or tackle a challenge they’ve been working on is what keeps me going. Every day is different, and that variety is what I love most.
How would you describe yourself?
I’m very patient, kind, and a good listener. I enjoy getting to know people on a deeper level and helping them feel comfortable and confident. I also love learning new skills with the people I support—it’s all about growing together.
What makes you unique as a support worker?
I bring a fun mix of compassion, patience, and enthusiasm for life. My love for food, outdoor activities, and even chickens gives me lots of ways to connect with clients. I always aim to create a positive, engaging environment where everyone feels supported and heard.
