What’s your role at Just Support?
I’m a Support Worker, here to help create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for clients. What excites me most is building real connections, sharing hobbies, and helping people feel empowered to reach their goals.
What inspired you to become a support worker?
My elder cousin, who is a social worker, made a huge difference in my life when I was growing up. His guidance and support helped me through challenges and shaped the person I am today. He inspired me to follow a similar path — to be that person who brings positive change and encouragement to others.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The people! Every day brings new conversations, new ideas, and sometimes even new games to try. I love seeing clients smile, grow in confidence, and feel proud of what they’ve achieved. Plus, I get to mix work with fun — which is a win-win in my book! It’s all about the connections. Whether it’s chatting about shared interests, playing games, or just being there when someone needs support, those little moments make a big difference. And the fun? That comes naturally when you get to be yourself and bring a little joy into someone’s day.
What are your interests and hobbies outside of work?
I have way too many hobbies to list them all! A few of my favourites include baking and cooking, building models, trying out different crafts, and playing games — everything from board games to TRPGs and Steam games. I also enjoy K-Pop and J-Pop, and I’m always open to exploring new interests. Honestly, just talk to me — we can discover more and try different things together!
Do you have a hidden talent or fun fact?
I’m definitely a cat person — but doggos and all the other fluffies are more than welcome too!

I’m the Chief Quest Master around here, which means I get the awesome job of guiding our team and participants through incredible adventures in support and personal growth. I plot the course, steer the ship, and sometimes fight off dragons (metaphorically speaking).
Hi there! I’m Vanessa, and I’ve been enriching lives here as a support worker for over a year now. I specialize in supporting children and young people, focusing on academic studies, social skills, and active community participation. The best part? Our team’s wonderfully queer-friendly and nerdy vibe—it really makes Just Support feel like home.
