What’s your role at Just Support?
My role at Just Support is focused on supporting people in their day-to-day lives while helping them build independence and confidence. I work closely with teens and young adults, encouraging healthy routines and fostering habits that support both their physical and emotional wellbeing. I’m there to give support, encouragement, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while working towards their goals.
What inspired you to become a support worker?
I was inspired to become a support worker through a mix of personal and work experiences. I’ve previously worked with children in a summer camp setting, and I loved creating fun and positive moments for them. On a personal level, my sibling with autism has been a big inspiration for me and has taught me so much about patience, support, and appreciating the little things.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most about my job is being able to create fun moments together and seeing the people I support achieve their goals. I also love building strong, positive relationships and being someone they can rely on and trust.
What are your interests and hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy crafting and crocheting, reading, and watching anime (I’m a new fan!). I also love playing cozy Nintendo Switch games, trying out a new escape room, and traveling whenever I get the chance.
Do you have a hidden talent or fun fact?
A fun fact about me is that I’m a bit of a daredevil – I’m always up for trying something crazy, like bungee jumping or skydiving.

I’m the Chief Quest Master around here, which means I get the awesome job of guiding our team and participants through incredible adventures in support and personal growth. I plot the course, steer the ship, and sometimes fight off dragons (metaphorically speaking).
Hi there! I’m Vanessa, and I’ve been enriching lives here as a support worker for over a year now.
